Mexico City Food Guide: Tacos La Chula
Are you looking for memorable tacos? Tacos that are cooked to order, topped with flavorful salsa, and packed with taste? Tacos La Chula will satisfy your cravings and more! This taco shop has everything you need: frijoles a la charra, a variety of tacos, desserts, drinks, and so much more. We tried several items and were extremely satisfied.
The tacos al pastor were some of the best I’ve ever had! When I noticed they served frijoles a la charra, or charro beans, I knew I had to try them. This classic staple of cookouts perfectly complemented the vibe of the place. It felt like a massive carne asada, and it was so much fun to eat here. The salsas and grilled green onions added to the authentic "carne asada" experience.
The aguas frescas were fresh and not overly sweet. A standout flavor was the strawberry horchata—a unique twist I had never tried until this trip. The tamarind michelada was also a great choice for a late-night cocktail.
For dessert, we sampled the arroz con leche and flan. I might be biased, but the arroz con leche was the better choice! It was a nostalgic sweet treat that reminded me of the women in my life who make this dish. Tacos La Chula has several locations, so if you’re near one, you absolutely must check it out!
